| Active Packaging Technologist NY Open (J#30769) Title: Active Packaging Technologist Company: Multisorb Technologies Description In this position, you will be responsible for advancing the science and technology of active packaging in the context of food preservation.Primarily responsible for the development and application of active packaging technologies to specific customer needs in the food industry. Meets with customers to understand food preservation issues, conducts and coordinates product development and microbiological test programs in support of the marketing and manufacturing efforts.Proposes programs of both need and discover oriented research in the solution of current problems and long term issues in the development of a body of fundamental technical knowledge which may be applied to active packaging product development. Maintain contact with active packaging development activities and trends with academic and industrial sources. To qualify, you must have a bachelors degree in food science or biochemistry. Additional educational background in packaging science or engineering desirable. MS or PhD preferred. A minimum of three to five years of product development or food technologist experience in the food industry is required. Experience with product trials including packaging equipment desirable. Direct experience in development of active packaging desirable. The successful candidate will have both science and engineering capabilities and a demonstrated record of creative solutions in an applications environment.
