| Business Manager CA Open (J#19954) Title: Business Manager Company: Dole Food Company Description Dole, with 2008 net revenues of $7.6 billion, is the world's largest producer and marketer of high-quality fresh fruit and fresh vegetables, and is the leading producer of organic bananas. Dole markets a growing line of packaged and frozen foods and is a produce industry leader in nutrition education and research. The Business Manager will play an integral role in the development and implementation of the business plan for Dole's Frozen Fruit franchise. Primary responsibilities will include achieving volume/profit objectives, establishing business strategies and managing all elements of the marketing mix. Responsible for delivery of brand objectives, including volume and market share goals across the retail, mass merchandiser and club channels Manage the brand P&L to achieve sales revenue & profit targets Develop annual and long-term plans grounded in sound business strategies to attain to both short and long term growth plans Responsible for the ideation, development, and launch of new product concepts and line extensions Develop and execute marketing plans, including all consumer promotions, sales collateral and package design; develop and track the marketing budget Initiate both qualitative and quantitative research studies to respond to competitive activity, identify consumer insights and optimize product offerings Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of various projects, including line extensions, new products, packaging changes, cost savings initiatives, etc. Utilize syndicated data to identify and respond to category trends, competitive activity, brand base and incremental volume trends, etc.; recommend actions based on analysis of causal data and sales feedback Partner with trade marketing to develop the trade promotion plan, including a focus on identifying the most efficient use of trade funds to manage base price, price gaps and tpr/quality events Work with sales in developing and monitoring volume forecasts; work with supply chain to manage inventory levels to improve working capital and reduce the risk of obsolete inventory Travel: 15% Requirements 4 years marketing experience or similar role in a consumer packaged goods company Highly motivated individual with a proven track record of establishing and meeting financial & business goals Ability to set clear and measurable objectives Ability to prioritize and make decisions with limited supervision and information Strong organization and project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously Superb analytical ability, including the use of qualitative and quantitative data in developing sound business strategies Proven success in new product development (concept ideation through product commercialization and launch) Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization Strong presentation skills, including the ability to develop compelling selling stories and strategic plans, both for internal and external parties Strong computer skills and syndicated data experience (IRI or Nielsen) required Key Competencies: Initiative Problem solving Strategic Acumen (Analytical/Analyzes Pitfalls/Risk taking) Leadership Team orientation Self-starter Emotional Intelligence Ability to Influence and build credibility Education: BS degree in Marketing or related field required; MBA highly desired | |||
