| Packaging Engineer FL Open (J#30672) Title: Packaging Engineer Company: MAKO Surgical Description MAKO Surgical, an innovative and dynamic, medical device company has openings for a Packaging Engineer Contractor located in the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida headquarters. The Packaging Engineer, Biomechanics is a project task manager and executor of work associated with the design, development, evaluation, testing and validation of packaging related items for metallic and non-metallic, sterile and non-sterile, single-use and durable products to meet program project requirements. Departmental Responsibilities: - Actively work with cross-functional teams inside or outside MAKO to develop packaging requirements and concepts for new products and improvements or modifications to existing product packaging. - Lead efforts on development, evaluation and testing of product packaging for sterile and non-sterile products. - Lead operations or outside suppliers in implementation of new or improved packaging through market acceptance. - Design and coordinate standard engineering tests for new or improved product packaging with outside suppliers or test facilities. - Compile, analyze and report test results or research data as related to package design, materials and processes for cartons, inserts, pouches and thermoformed packaging according to all Design Control requirements. - Work with Product Managers, Marketing and Regulatory to define labeling requirements and content for U.S and international markets. - Maintain label database and create label graphic content to provide files to vendors for label production. Create manufacturing work instructions and conduct training on labeling processes for applicable departments. - Provide guidance to OEM suppliers and test facilities to ensure compliance with FDA and MAKO regulations and Quality System requirements. - Establish project plans, track, manage and provide updates in accordance with project schedules to program management for multiple, concurrent packaging efforts and programs. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage all activity related to cases & trays development and field support. Requirements Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor s Degree in Package, Mechanical, Biomedical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in packaging development with 3 years in an FDA regulated industry. - Prior project management experience with strong time management skills to manage multiple high profile programs operating simultaneously. - Proficient with Package Engineering software tools, CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Visio). - Superior written and spoken English communication, reporting, documentation, and organizational skills - LEAN Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodology experience preferred. | |||
