Description

Amcor Packaging Distribution is composed of manufacturing and distribution operations delivering quality packaging products across the United States and Mexico. Our core business focuses on corrugated carton manufacturing and distribution.

Position Summary: This position will support the Category Management Leaders with timely, high-quality analysis and deliverables. Focuses primarily on supporting the execution of category management activities and implementation of related sourcing (complex categories) initiatives aimed at meeting both Amcor Packaging Distribution (APD) business needs and customer needs. Builds and maintains strong working and collaborative relationships with internal customers and suppliers.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:

Support the execution of category management strategies and activities and strategic sourcing process and approaches for assigned categories/sub-categories. Follow the uniform implementation of category management strategies and sourcing approaches. Support the development of RFx specification documentation based on category specifications/need.

Assist with supplier identification and outreach. Develop pricing models to enable easy supplier responses and award scenario analysis. Perform data analysis for category management strategies and sourcing approaches.

Assist with the development of sourcing recommendations based on data analysis. Calculate total cost of ownership/ should cost and develop baseline spend and savings models. Conduct analysis to support benefits estimation and documentation.

Develop recommendations and strategies to ensure adequate compliance monitoring, and benefits tracking.

Support the management of total value added, sourcing benefits and other performance metrics. Support understanding and documenting of all demand side information and data relating to the sub-category groupings (future needs, critical delivery dates, frequency of needs, budget requirements, expenditure analysis and trends, specifications).

Assist in the development of a medium to long term demand plan for the category/ sub-categories. Support the monitoring and reviewing of spend/expenditure and/or consumption analysis data. Revisit and review all projections to ensure that supply and demand are aligned.

Assist in tracking and monitoring supplier markets of sub-categories during the duration of contracts (including benchmarking against industry / market standards).

Support negotiation strategy with fact-based analysis.

Assist in effective risk and compliance management with regards to category management. Support development of category-specific road map for institutionalizing category management focus (activities, timings, resources, dependencies, etc) within APD and Amcor NA.

Support business units on interpretation and compliance to all relevant procurement regulatory, internal and external compliance requirements.

Assist in proactively monitoring compliance to all audit requirements. Assist in recurrent reviews of sub-categories operating processes and norms.

Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s (4-year) degree required; Masters/MBA would be an added advantage

Previous experience within the supply management discipline

Experience in quantitative applications such as Microsoft Excel and Access

Experience in developing negotiations of pricing and contract terms and conditions

Experience in strategic sourcing /supplier selection

Strong organizational, verbal communication and writing skills as demonstrated in previous work experience.
